Thats some BS. MBME was going to do it there, where did SCCA get the idea from?
Ima kill Greg.

EVOIXMR

idk where they got the idea but Greg and CD are the ones that set it all up, lol.
Actually it might be better that they will do it first, then you can see how it is, and it would help MBME hold one later on at that site.
like a dry run kinda.

I can't wait, I've been having autoX DT's... lol :leright:

Greg got the idea from me.
He was suppose to be helping me and George set it up for the past summer but we didnt get the approval from the city in time to do all the advertisments and just get ready over all.

So it looks like there are 2 evos and an STi signed up already...who else is gonna sign up for the autox?? If you have never done an autox event before i suggest signing up and trying it out...you learn a lot about you and your car even though you may not hit over 50mph, depending on how the course is setup...

FourSix... you need to do this... btw, nice seeing ya today, haha.

But still, im gonna be there for sure, not too sure if im gonna compete. Money is super tight... SUPER SUPER tight. But for sure, its a great time. The SCCA can really host an event! :)

TheWhiteMach1

But Yonnie is right, we really wanted to do an autocross there and brought it up to a whole range of people before taking to the SCCA about it. Its a great lot, but after inspecting it, its pretty torn up. There are huge cracks, pot holes, poles, and parking slabs and signs everywhere. Bad thing is, its gonna eat up your tires quick.

Hell the whole idea of having the autocross at the mall parking lot originally started from me when I didnt like George's location of using the old movie theater's parking lot.
Then me and him went out there and planned out a few course and some other things for a 2 day event with more then jsut autocross.

It'll be interesting to see how they plan the course out.
Hopefully it won't be too bad on tires.
Yok. R-Comps aint cheap, lol..

Should be fun.
Hopefully it's warm out.
Go autox and then watch the NFL playoffs afterward. ha.
gonna be a good day.

haha... who found the parking lot again??? I kinda remember me stumbling apon it when i took my midnight drive, then us meeting up there to see how it looked together cause i didnt wanna be caught alone in a parking lot that was closed off... HAHAHA...

It just takes a long time to talk places into letting us auto x on thier property. SCCA does listen to everyones ideals and try to make them happen even if it's years later of bugging the people to let them do it. We need all the places we can get and that's way we need a lot to show up for the events and take care of the places we do get.

I hope to see a lot of you on here there, make it a good member turn out! :thumb:

Well we were going to do it without the SCCA, Greg was going to help us but we didnt have enough time to get the approval and advertise. It was also going to be a charity event as well for the humains society to help us do it.
But I guess Greg took our idea and got the SCCA either way I think im still going to be in it.:)

Ok I just want to clear a few things up. I believe you George or Yanni or whoever thought of the site first. I'm sorry SCCA got the site before you did, but realisticly someone was able to sweet talk B+C into letting us use the lot and dealing with B+C is no easy task. So ideally we need to come out have fun, leave the place better then what we found it. Also we can't have people acting crazy around the event. This will only cause us harm at using the place in the future. May it be with MBCE or SCCA. We all know someone who could be thta person so help them if they get the urge. Hell I get the urge, but I would prefer to come back to the site and have another event as it is better the MB Speedway.
So on that note enough said I will see everyone on Sunday the 11th. I will send out a challenge to Yanni and George. The challenge is my pax time will be better then yours. I'm rolling in DS with street tires in my Legacy are you up to the challenge?

Yea im up for the challenge, but I am not worried about who got to it first. I was only kidding around with Greg. Im really good friends with his son Chad. As for B & C, we were not worried about cause I know a girl whos Grandpa is up there near chairman of the board and he already said he would help us out. The thing that stopped us was we started in the end of the summer and was aiming for August/November to do it cause SCCA had a few more events and we didnt want it the same time as theirs. And to get the approval from the city there would of been a meeting to discuss it and it would of taken a month, then we needed time to advertise.

Between 21st and 27th avenues North and 17 business.

Actual address is:
2501 North Kings highway.
Google map it.

basically :
if you are coming from 501 into myrtle beach, take oak street or 17 business headed north til you get to 25th avenue north.
Big open lot, you cant miss it.

It's probably gonna be pretty rough. They havn't re-paved anything over there that I know of and they have stored alot of heavy equipment there a few times. Depending on which parking lot it is in it may be alright to piss poor.

Hopefully I am wrong though.

Doesn't look like I will be making this one unfortunatly. Got a few things to pay off and every buck counts, plus my rear tires are damn near treadless now and I need them to last JUST a little bit longer.

I ran like shit. need a suspension. The porche (I think) has a video up on youtube showing the course. It was a great course, but very hard on "X-Prepared" sentras. haha.

I was the only XP class car there, but I couldn't keep up with the AWD on that slippery shit.

not bad...I have the GG evo without all the CF stuff all over it...i had 2 high 41 second runs...fastest was a 41.8...i didn't think that was too bad considering if was my first autox with my cheap BC racing coilovers and the first autox i have done in 8 months....haha...only other suspension mods i have is a rear sway plus i had r compounds on the car too...everything else suspension & brake wise is stock...

Yeah, 15 months in Iraq and then comming back to AutoX is a bitch!

Im still learning the car as well. I came back and got my slicks and did all he suspension work at one time. So now its like driving a new car while trying toget all the rust out of my driving!

pimpsmurf
01-19-2009, 11:40 AM
I was sucking ass w/ 46+second runs (IIRC)

Completely Stock suspension w/ shit tires. :D

Rcomps + coilovers would have had me way way down. I just couldn't make it turn. Worst of all was when I could actually get it to turn, it was only because the back was sliding around on all the dust and shit that came up when the place dried off.

I can't wait for this points season. I hope I get these coilovers and then some decent rcomps or maybe just some sticky 225's. If I go with r-comps I think I'm going to put them on some 15" rims.
