Finally got my car back today. Cams sound sick on the car...I'll take a video of them in a bit. I have the two dyno runs we did just to see if the car was safe with the AFR's. Belt was squeaking bc there was a coolant leak that got on the belt. It's about gone now. Only put down 282 whp 347 wtq. Thats on the tune that it had on the old motor. I'll take it down to rage-tek hopefully in the next month and get it straightened out and hopefully hit at least 300whp. I expected the tq to be there with the cams it has now...seems my ported turbo made a pretty big difference. I'll go take a start up and idle vid now and post it up.

I was wondering what your A/F ratio was on the dyno. What kind of dyno did you use? And was the wideband screwed put before the cat or clipped on to the end of the tail pipe?

Yea they didn't touch the cam timing at all. The AFR were from 11.6 to 11.9 i think now. I wont be driving it to hard till i get the tune. Just did a quick run 40-90 to see how the boost was holding. 19-20 most of the way then down to 16...same as the last tune was though...maybe holding boost a little better. It felt really good in that run though. It was on a dynojet too. And yea it is lopey as hell, video isnt really close to the way it is now.

They actually ddn't tune anything...I dont think they think the DSP is worth tuning with....so ill drive to rage sometime in the near future.

I agree, and if they dont think it will do much i didnt want to force them. Rage tek seems to know what they are doing with it. After it gets a real tune i think it will be back over 300, either way it felt fast today 40-90...tq steer was worse than ever....then again havent driven it in a while.

On the A/F reading it does not seem there is much more hp to gain, but since the timing was not touched there may be room for improvement. I bet you can't wait to get it tuned, I am in the same transition. Getting a wideband would not be a bad idea, here is a link to the one I am running. I like it b/c it does not have the pod gauges.

Have a wideband. Might not be much to gain, but the tune could still be better. When charlie tuned it the afr's were flat 11.5-11.6 he whole way. This one is all over. Dont have a copy of the dyno should get emailed to me just so i can look at it and compare.

He's got quite a bit of improvement left to play with by the sound of those cams. He might not get a whole lot more on the peak numbers but rage will make a lot more useable power.

Yea, I'll try to call rage-tek and see when the best time to head there would be and how long it would be. Im done with classes at like 1:30 Fridays so hopefully friday or a saturday.

The torque was always good, and still feels like it is all there...3rd gear torque steer was pwning me when i was getting on I-95....really threw me off

Just make sure and check the exhaust and intercooler piping for leaks also, those were always my 2 problem areas after having the car all apart.

Yea, I'm going to replace the clamps with T-bolt clamps here soon. Just gotta count how many i need. There is one pipe that im iffy on coming from the cold side IC to TB. I'm pretty sure there is a leak, when i have zero or a really small leak my BOV sounds different. Right now it doesnt sound right.

Damn, after doing some research seems some people are gaining 30whp from doing the cam tunning alone. I doubt I would see that since I think the person I saw sheets on has a 50trim. But either way there is more power to be had from getting it tuned.

Today I went by the shop and a kid pulls up who is upgrading FROM a GT35r to something else. Right now he is 100% stock other than gt35r, exhaust and intake. Running only 12 psi. he is doing a complete build and new turbo and selling this turbo to my shop. So now I am torn on what to do. Get this kit and fuel and get 400+ whp or coilovers and go with my initial plan of a E1 or 16/20g.

I want to do it if the price is right...then again I dont because I want this car to be able to do everything. Be decent at a strip, good in corners/autox...

Well find a median (fuel setup) which you will need regaurdless of the route you take and start gettting it together. fuel pump, return line, 750ish injectors. That will buy you some time to decide, but please dont wasted money o a 16 or 20g, Im quickly becoming a fan of the bit delta series turbos.

Oh yea I forgot about the delta series. I just want to have a decent spool time. I'm going to do coilovers next then I'll figure out what im going to do with the turbo. Just set the PCM to stock stage 2 setting...car should be rich as hell and slower....but safer for now.

The video doesn't really do the sound justice. I can see how some don't like the sound, I like it. The car is louder than it used to be for some reason. Not sure if it could be from the cams at all or if my resonator in my exhaust crapped out.

Most of my friends around here like the sound. Granted only one knows anything about cars really, and he pointed out it sounded rich...which was right after i went back to stock tune.

So i might have a whopping 260 whp/280 wtq...AFR are at 10.2-10.4 WOT right now haha. Once it is all tuned it wont have such a rough idle i dont think

haha I've always told Aaron his car sounds like a tractor but so does mine when I have my cutout open...a lot of turbo 4 cylinders end up sounding like that when they have cutouts or a short ass exhaust like Aaron does...
