Yes, the Blue Devil was the supercharged Corvette prototype that they said never would be. Now this is the supercharged Camaro prototype they said never would be. The Corvette was blue and deemed Blue Devil. Since this Camaro is white, I've deemed it White Devil.

Because in the original Camaros the Z28 was the bad ass one. The SS was the common one and the Z28 was the big boy.

Because the 1st Gen Z-28 was a "race" car, it had less power than the SS but it was set up to handle. This new Z-28 is supposed to have upgraded suspension and tires/wheels.

TJ is pretty much right. The SS was the higher volume selling fast car. It was build for raw HP and dragging cars stop light to stop light. The Z28 came about to meet TA Series regulation. You had to have X amount of production cars to qualify and it had to be under 305ci. Thus, the Cross-Ram 302. The Z28 was a handling package with enough HP to to compete. It could outrun a SS396 around curves but the BB would walk it in a straight line. That's why the Z cars are so sought after. Less made, and the Cross-Rams were the fast Zs. SS has always been the top option for Chevy in the performance/appearance department and still is. We don't know for sure if this Camaro will be called Z28. It could be COPO, or ZL1 or something else. The ZR1 Corvette was originally going to be the next Z06 and then a higher option Z06 called Z07. Only time will tell.
