Meth Injection Install 12-2-08 finally

SO I'm dropping the car off tomorrow to get the Meth Injection put in and retuned.
Finally.. lol
Keegan's gonna have Fuuunn. lol

Snow Performance "Stage 2" with all upgrades and failsafes.

Install probably Tues. + Wed. and then slap it on the rollers on Thursday to see the difference.

Should be good for another 50 or so whp.
We'll see Thursday.

Will update with results asap.

I got the 150 psi pump, upgraded pump solenoid, upgraded wastegate solenoid, 3 qt. tank, SafeInjection failsafe, VC-25 controller,
3 nozzles 625/375/150mL, Low level indicator, Snow Digital "milliLiter" Flow guage >
"RMR" Carbon Fiber steering column pod for the flow guage.


90 awhp would be sweet, hehe..
Prob. closer to 50-60 though with a safe tune - if i had to guess.

I'm thinking around 440-450ish on 93 pump gas and meth, [28-29 psi]
and close to 500 with C16 and meth with crazy Boost [32+].

but idk, we'll see.

I'm Not wanting to lift a HG, and also keep the tune safe.

Some day i'll prob stroke it to 2.3 but thats after i pay it off, and even then, it's no turning back after that.
so thats about as far as i'll go b4 i stop modding the engine.

Shep race trans is 3-4k and AMS stroker kit is prob same or more.
plus bigger turbo after that, it gets crazy expensive from there.

ill be by the shop tomorrow and check out the install and whatnot...my guess is a 35-40whp gain with meth. after Charlie retunes...so say 410-415whp on pump & meth. C16 & meth will be a little different story though...probably another 35 whp or so over your pump & meth. #s...So probably 450-460whp on C16 & meth....thats my guess...depending on how fast Keegan does the install...we should find out by Wednesday night probably...

Hopefully the install will go as planned and all the parts work.

I have to work Wed. at 3pm, so i'll do the dyno stuff on Thursday.

I've been kinda skeptical of the meth injection up til now, and have put it off, but others have seen good gains, so we'll see.

I paid 400 for the main Snow kit with the upgraded stuff.
And paid 100 for the RMR CF pod, and i think 75$ for the flow guage which are options not needed but i wanted em.
So it wasnt too bad on price.

I really wanted the aquamist HFS-5 with DDs3 controller,that is like 12-1300$.. so i went with Snow.

Install is pretty straight forward, it's the SafeInjection failsafe, wiring stuff I'm a little worried about.
Hopefully it all works like it's supposed to.

Alcohol Injection Systems. Suggested 7psi. Saw a 35hp gain on the dyno with that change. Also, I dont use as much methanol, unless I'm into it.

Boost triggered and progressive. Starts to come on about 11 psi and full spray at about 19 psi. We're still messing with the settings though.

We're Still working on setting up all the failsafe settings and flow settings on the controller.

Finally got it all working today and first couple pulls on the dyno after a little ecu fiddling and it put down 405 awhp. with 11.0 afr. on 93 pump gas and 100% alcohol. Boost= 25 psi - 3rd gear.
My 1:1 is 4th.
So I still have some room to improve.
Should see a bit more out of it once I get the failsafe boost solenoid replaced.
Didnt wanna go much more with out the failsafe

very safe map baseline was 343, and after some tuning 405.
So 62awhp gain


Failsafe boost solenoid turned out to be bad, so we just bypassed it for now, til i can get a new one.

Last pull shot a 4 foot BLUE flame out that lasted for 3-4 secs. lol hehe..
Missed a pic. though, dammit....

I Will post more after i get the new Failsafe Boost solenoid.

Solenoid is fixed.
Failsafe works.
Vacuum lines to the solenoid were hooked up wrong.

WELL, put it this way. "The instructions said one way", that didnt work.
Called SNOW, hooked it up differently, and it works now. pfftt...

So as soon as Charlie gets back from PRI this weekend in Orlando, were gonna put it back on the dyno and lean it out a teeny bit more and see what she's got.
Maybe another 15 or so.
420-425, maybe..

405 at the wheels on pump [in 3rd +awd] is pretty sweet though. :drool:
4th is my 1:1, so it's got a bit more in it, than 405. :woohoo:

It was fun driving back home from the shop down 31 on my way home tonight. :)
